Atlantic Salmon fishing on The Mýrarkvísl River, Iceland with guide Matti from Iceland Fishing Guide

I have always dreamed of catching my first Atlantic Salmon. Would this trip be the one that I finally catch one? How about a big one? This trip was marked with so many special moments: Meeting Matti and Ragna, watching and documenting “The Mink” on the prowl and exploring northern Iceland.
Prior to the trip, Ben and I bet $100 that he could “call his shot”, if he sees a fish, he can catch it. You decide, do I owe Ben $100 or not?! Who knew you could tight-line nymph for Atlantic Salmon?

Thanks to Ben Furimsky, AKA “The Mink,” for being a great friend, teacher and always getting on fish. Find him online and at the coolest fly fishing shows in the world: https://flyfishingshow.com

Thanks to Jason and Jo Randall for appearing and all of the great photos they captured. Check with Jason for his fly fishing books classes & speaking engagements. https://jrflyfishing.com
