Polywog Leech

This fly might just be Bob Erickson’s new favorite. The fly is tied with all Spawn Fly Fish products except the rear hook, which is an Ahrex home run, the front brush which is H2O and the flash which is saltwater Flashabou. The main feature is the tail, which are Spawn’s new pollywog tails. Great colors and size, about 2” in length. The dubbing is Spawn Simi Seal, featured in fantastic names like: Firecracker, Pesca Hot Pink, Coho Cool Aide, Slow Burn Flame. This fly is sure to be a killer Silver Salmon pattern, although it can be tied in a variety of sizes for trout, salmon and more.

This pattern is relatively simple, but between the materials and articulation there will be maximum movement in the water. As far as colors go, let your imagination run wild!

Bob Erickson is drawn to fly fishing because of the solitude, adventure, and chasing native species. He began tying when he was young, but has perfected his work by tying big meaty flies, with Alaskan salmon and trout in mind.
