Tom Rosenbauer of Orvis: A Legacy in Fly Fishing

Episode Summary

On this episode, I was honored to host the original fly fishing podcaster, Tom Rosenbauer. Tom is a legend in the industry and the host of the Orvis Fly Fishing Guide Podcast. He’s an author, TV Film host and serves as the Marketing Director for Orvis Rod and Tackle.  He’s also this year recipient of the Izaak Walton Award which is awarded by The American Museum of Fly Fishing to honor and celebrate individuals who live by the “Compleat Angler” philosophy.

I caught up with Tom at the Pleasanton Fly Fishing Show and we had a great conversation about the origins of Orvis, how the company grew over the years, some things the company is celebrated for and also some challenges they face in the future.

We dove into how Tom got grew in the sport, the Orvis 50/50 initiative and finish discussing his favorite places and style of fly fishing.

Enjoy the show and please share with a friend.  Thanks.
